Jackie Robinson

Jackie Robinson was the first black Major League Baseball (MLB) player of the modern era. That's amazing considering that there are a lot of black people in baseball and a lot of other sports. He broke the baseball color line. He truly made history for black people. I'm proud because we have a lot of good players now but it's because of him that I can say that now. So just do what he did and play whatever you want and maybe you can brake a color line for something and you can go down in history. I admire him for what he did I think that's important now.

Madam CJ Walker

Every black woman thanks her. At least that's what my older friends tell me. Madam CJ Walker. She was an African-American businesswoman, hair care entrepreneur and philanthropist. She made her fortune by developing and marketing a hugely successful line of beauty and hair products for black women under the company she founded, Madam C.J. Walker Manufacturing Company. She was the first person black or white to earn a million dollars. She invented the hot comb as well. From her experiences with hair like hair loss was common she knew that a lot of people didn't have plumbing so she though of heat. That's when the hot comb was born and invented and then and now every woman appreciates her invention. We all thank her for what she did. Being the first person to earn a million dollars is so cool and it would be such an honor. I'm glad she did that to.

Garrett Morgan

This is the dude that helped saved many people's lives. Garrett Morgan invented the traffic light. The thing we all needed. If it wasn't for his invention then more people would be getting killed on the streets than they are already which is a lot. He patent the invention. He saved somebodies life and then started to sell his invention all over the country. If it wasn't for this invention I doubt any of us would be here right now because there are already a lot of car crashes and I think that we should be thankful that he made that. We would either not be part of existence or just would be dead. So I thank him for making something that help saves  my life because I like living for right now.

Maya Angelou

Maya Angelou is known for her writing. She is such a good author. She is an American autobiographer and poet who has been called "America's most visible black female autobiographer" by scholar Joanne M. Braxton. She was active in the Civil Rights Movement. She is best for her books that she wrote about her childhood. She is one of the best female authors out there. Not only is she a good writer but she is good in acting. She has acted in a Tyler Perry movie which she did a very good job in. Maya Angelou might not have made the biggest difference in the world but super hero actions like Martin Luther King Jr. or Rosa Parks but the difference and the message is in the words she writes. You get what she means on what she puts on paper. She is awesome in what she does.

Something That Might Help People Understand This Month Even More

This episode really shows what we went through and some of the people that we need to honor for Black History Month. This is a perfect example of what I mean. Go on youtube and look up the episode of  That's So Raven and the episode is called True Colors or here's the link to the episode right here and I hope you enjoy!!!

George Washingon Carver

George Washington Carver was a scientist, educator, and an inventor. Much of Carver's fame is based on his research into and promotion of crops as alternatives to cotton, such as peanuts and sweet potatoes. He wanted poor farmers to grow alternative crops both as a source of their own food and as a source of other products to improve their quality of life. He got so many uses out of the peanuts that's a major reason why he is famous. He got uses that we still use majorly still today in this modern time. He paved the way for black scientist and he had a great affect not only in history but in science to. Carver studied at the school Booker T. Washington made which was an amazing opportunity for him. He didn't give up on life. He did his experiments and now we celebrate him by using what he invented everyday. To me this showed that black people has just as much brains than anybody else. People thought that black people weren't that smart for some reason. He shows that we can invent a lot of things it just takes hard work and time to do amazing achievements like that.

Rosa Parks

Rosa Parks is a big deal in African American history and just history itself. She helped us not to be forced to sit in the back of the bus. She was an African-American civil rights activist, whom the U.S. Congress called "the first lady of civil rights", and "the mother of the freedom movement". She made it easy for black people to have transportation. She refused to give her seat up on the bus for a white person and the driver pulled the police on her and she got arrested. Parks' act of defiance became an important symbol of the modern Civil Rights Movement and Parks became an international icon of resistance to racial segregation. She got arrested many times. Including herself and Martin Luther King Jr. they fought for this right. They won and from then on black people didn't to be told where to sit anymore. They could sit where ever we want for any where. This has made such a big difference. If that didn't happen then we would be on the back of the bus and we still would have segregation. Rosa is a reason why we should be grateful for African Americans fought for our rights. I'm telling you that life wouldn't be the same if people like Rosa Parks didn't stand up for what she believed in and put her life on the line. She live a very long, generous, loving, and hard working life. She lived long and did great things that affect a race for the good of it. She is an amazing person that reminds me why I am here and where I am in life. Also how I want to live my life.

Martin Luther King Jr.

Wow. Where can I even begin. This man has such a special place in my heart. Martin Luther King Jr. is one of the most greatest people I admire and is such an inspiration to me. He is one of the reasons why I love being black. H e did such awesome things when he was alive. He died at a young age. I can't even put into words how much he did for African Americans. He did above and beyond. This is a man that I will never get tired of. He is a hero to me and he leads me to do right and stay on the right path. He was one of the best leaders that have ever lived. He was religious and had faith in God thta's why he was such a good as well. He was a pastor which helped with his leadership skills. He was just a amazing man then and now to this day. We see the work he has done everyday. If it wasn't for him then black people would still have to deal with segregation and discrimination like it was back then. He gave us our rights as African Americans so that we would be created equal and treated equally. This is our foundation to life. He paved the way for us now so that we can live out his dream. But nobody doesn't even think about that. They just think about what they can get and just forget what we as black people have gone through. That's what makes me sad, angry, and disappointed at black people. I know your saying chill out it;s not that big of a deal. Maybe to you but to me it's everything and I would hope it would be the same for you to.  He fought for African American rights. He helped black people. We abuse those rights that he and other people fought for. I love his speech " I Have a Dream." That is what made me look up to him like I do now. Not only that but I read what he did which just made me speechless. This is a man that is still love and appreciate til this day. RIP Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and may God rest your soul forever.

The History of Our People

This is where we come from. These people led us to know. So why aren't we appreciate them now especially when it's our month. We didn't go through war, triumph, tribulations, struggle, and fighting for our freedom just so that February can just be another month. Kids forget that this is black history month. You know why they do? Because our school systems and parents don't do anything to celebrate it. I do feel bad because I wished that I could ask my family to do something to at least honor this month. Especially being a African American child and being a person of color. These people you see in the picture did everything we could to where we are now. Now I know it's late in the month to write this or to be doing what I'm about to say but I feel I have to because I admire what these people did and why we have this month. So everyday for the rest of the month I will post someone new that we need to celebrate for Black History Month. I'm doing this because I care about this. I always have and I always will. These stories I have heard about these people over many years of my life are so amazing. Which makes me more upset that I'm speaking up now. For every black person reading this especially we need to take this month seriously because we have gone through to much for this month to be wasted and for this just to be like any other month. That kind of upsets me to be honest with you people. But take what I'm saying into consideration and really think. See how you feel afterward.

Black History In Song and Dance

What he's saying just amazes me because so many African Americans made such great achievements. We made a big difference in this world. We as African Americans did so much more than I thought we did. This is reasons why I love being black and I'm black and I'm proud. He's right anything is possible. Trust me I know for a fact that is true. I love this song also.

Only By His GRACE

His grace keeps me here.
God is so good.
Without His grace I don't know where I would be.
I would be dead.
Things in my life has caused me darkness.
What's inside of me has almost caused me to die.
People don't understand this concept.
The mind and the heart can be a great thing.
But they can also cause you pain, suffering, and it can be one of the most worst and dangerous things that you can listen to.
It's like the voice inside of you doesn't exsist .
All you hear is your mind and heart.
Both of those can deceive you.
You need God's grace to survive.
Only by His grace.
So remember when your about to do something dealing with life or death think.
Think about how it's going to affect your life.
Remember it's only by His grace.

What Am I Feeling? LOVE!!!!!!!

Love is all around.
There are different types of love.
There's family, friends, pets, and boyfriend and girlfriend love.
But the love I love the most is the love between children and their parents.
Let's just think about it.
If it wasn't for parents we wouldn't be here.
Parents are the best things that ever happened.
They are the people that love you no matter what.
Mothers have a great role in life.
They take care of you, they do everything in their power to make sure you are safe.
Mothers are like thoughts their always in your mind.
Fathers are weapons their there to protect you.
My mom and dad are the best.
We have such a close relationship.
If kids had a relationship like that with their parents then kids will be off the streets.
I think a relationship with parents is so important.
Without my parents I don't know where I would be and what I would do.
Friends, boyfriends, and girlfriends come and go.
But parents will never leave you.
If I didn't have the relationship I have with my mom and dad I wouldn't be here right now.
I thank my parents for never giving up on me.
They inspire me.
They make me who I am today.
I love who I am today and I love them.
I wouldn't hurt them on purpose.
Why you ask?
Because if you love somebody so much you wouldn't make them upset.
What's the point of hurting somebody you love?
Now how do you look?
You look like a jerk.
Never say " I wish my parents were never born."
When you lose them then you say " I need my parents."
Always love your parents.
Be greatful for them because some people don't have them.
I love my mommy and daddy!!!!
I wouldn't trade them for anything or anybody in this world!!!!
So again I ask what am I feeling?
LOVE FOREVER!!!!

A Different Type of Music Known as Gospel Rap

I like these two songs put together because every time I listen to these either together or separately it makes me think. Even though this isn't Chris Brown or Drake this is good music. You should give it a chance before you say no to it. Gospel rappers are just as good as regular rappers. Don't judge this music before you listen to it. Who knows maybe you will like gospel rap to. Yes this is this the music I listen to also. Don't judge me by the music because gospel rap makes me part of the person I am today. Apparently people like who I am. This is song is a mixture of two artist and there songs. Lecrae- Fanatics and Trip Lee's- Cash or Christ. Both of these are good so check them out.

Justin Bieber Never Say Never

Yesterday I went to the movies and I say Justin Bieber's Never Say Never. Honestly it was a good movie and I didn't think it would be that good as it was. It was better than I imagined. I think people should see this movie if  you like Justin Bieber. This movie was so good that my friend didn't like him at all now she loves him. Which I think is amazing. So I recommend this movie. He performs all the favorite songs from both albums. You never know you might like it. The message in his movie is good and it's so true you should never say never to anything especially your dreams and goals in life. One last thing never say never.

A Team in a World Cheerleading Championship

This is one of the coolest cheerleading videos I have ever seen check it out. You be amazed what cheerleaders can do.

Thursday, February 10, 2011

Cheerleaders in competition.

This is tight I like it alot because it shows how hard cheerleaders work. People think that cheerleaders don't work hard as other people.

When things in cheerleading go wrong

Two Videos of cheerleading accidents. It's funny but I hope the people were ok afterwards.

It's Just a Feeling.

Has there ever been a time when you just felt hopeless, lost with your life, and is just confused with life itself. I know how you feel. I feel that way all the time. But you know how you deal with that feeling? You surround yourself with people that love you. If you feel that way than it's just a feeling. It will go away maybe not right away but it will. If your like me than it will take some time. But with the right peolpe around you and if you know you have love than your going to get over it. Hopelessness is just a feeling but love is eternal. You have to believe in yourself and just work on those feelings with other. After that you should be fine and if not just talk it out with more people and even get professional help. We have to be strong together and love each other for who we are not what other people want us to be.

Is It Really Bright?

You think my life is a bright happy all the time world.
That's on the outside but you have no idea on the inside.
To people my life is suppose to be the best like i shouldn't have any struggles.
But one I'm human and two that's defiantly not true.
My life is full of hurt, pain, depression, and disappointment.
If I had to think of my life as a road it would be dark.
It will also either be a dead end road or a road where it cuts off and at a certain point you fall and never come back.
Sure my life may seem all good and well.
But on the inside it's way way worse.
There has been so much pain in my life.
That pain has caused me to think and do some crazy things.
To tell you the truth I cover a lot of pain but nobody notices.
I look around and sometimes I wish I have never been born.
I think to myself what is my purpose in life?
Also I think why am I on this earth? and should I even be here?
I cry myself to sleep on nights because of things that have been done.
So what do you think now?
Is my road/life is as bright as you think or do you think it's dark?
To me my life is pitch black.
There's more to me than you think and I think it's best for some people to know what you know about me.

Monsters

Monsters by Poetri. In this poem he is talking about how we have monsters in us. It can be in your heart or in your stomach. Where are your monsters? A little tidbit for you listen what he says in the middle and end because I think that's where the powerful words are in that poem. I hope you find out where your monsters are.

Dating Myself.

This poem is called dating myself by Poetri. What this poem is saying to me is that you don't have to worry about other people, or impressing other. If nobody wants to be with you then you have yourself. Like who you are even if other people don't like you. Love yourself no matter what. The whole point of this poem is love yourself. You don't have to let others love you when you have yourself. That's what really matters.

A book I got from the library called Waking Beauty

I got a book from the library called Waking Beauty. Waking Beauty is about this girl named Allison who was ugly and fat. The next day she woke up in a body like a goddess. She test her new looks and see how they work out. With her new body she has a new set of problems and things get complicated for her. With her new looks came all new power and fun. Men and modeling agencies were chasing after her. I picked this book because I wanted to see how things change when people change their looks. In this book Allison is depending on the outside not the inside. To alot of people they just are concerned about how they look on the outside. People don't really remember what's on the inside that counts. People should really look on the inside of people because the outside can change easily. I think it would be interesting to read about how a girl depends on her looks rather than how she is on the inside.
