George Washingon Carver

George Washington Carver was a scientist, educator, and an inventor. Much of Carver's fame is based on his research into and promotion of crops as alternatives to cotton, such as peanuts and sweet potatoes. He wanted poor farmers to grow alternative crops both as a source of their own food and as a source of other products to improve their quality of life. He got so many uses out of the peanuts that's a major reason why he is famous. He got uses that we still use majorly still today in this modern time. He paved the way for black scientist and he had a great affect not only in history but in science to. Carver studied at the school Booker T. Washington made which was an amazing opportunity for him. He didn't give up on life. He did his experiments and now we celebrate him by using what he invented everyday. To me this showed that black people has just as much brains than anybody else. People thought that black people weren't that smart for some reason. He shows that we can invent a lot of things it just takes hard work and time to do amazing achievements like that.
